My Story
Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, and educated in the East Orange School system, Kim King is an ordained Minister who is no stranger to trauma. As a single mom of five, her life has been shaped by both profound loss and unwavering faith.
Having witnessed violence and loss on the very same streets that raised her, Kim became an advocate for change. She works with men and women navigating trauma, helping them access resources that foster healing, growth, and restoration from the inside out.
As her work and testimony continue to grow, Kim's story reaches beyond personal experience and into a shared journey of healing. She is currently working on part two of a memoir series and remains divinely connected to individuals and organizations committed to promoting nonviolence, faith, and the healing power of YHWH.
The Book
Eyes Wide Shut, Wandering Awake takes is a deeply personal memoir of pain, survival, and faith. With raw honesty, Minister Kim King shares her experiences navigating family trauma, domestic abuse, addiction, and the realities of single motherhood-while searching for identity, worth and healing.
Through moments of loss and awakening, the story reveals how faith and resilience became the foundation for transformation. Rather than hiding the broken places, this memoir brings them into the light, showing how healing begins when truth is faced and grace is embraced.
This is more than a memoir. It is an invitation-to confront the past, recognize your worth, and begin your own path toward healing, self-acceptance, and restoration.
